Established in 2018, Remain arose from the inspiring women founder Penny Styles was influenced from in her everyday life.
Each piece is designed with the idea that it will only get better with age and “remain” a treasured piece in your wardrobe forever; an addition to your own individual style. This is the core identity of Remain and continues to be as they grown.
Penny has long been an inspiration to us here at THREADS, and as she prefers more to fly under the radar letting Remain do the talking, we were honoured to catch up and get her insights into what goes on 'Behind the Brand'.

Effortless / Everyday / Cool.
Where did the idea for Remain come from?
I really wanted to create a collection of pieces that were effortless, easy to dress up or down and style from season to season … I have always worn a lot of prints and am essentially very casual, so Remain was always going to reflect that.
At 10am I am usually:
At the moment with the current Covid lockdown, I am working from home so bouncing from zoom to zoom with my team or clients – in amongst some parenting, and a very chill version of home school.
Daily necessity:
Water / Caffeine / Mascara.
How would you describe your personal style:
A bit of grunge, a bit of street, a bit of sport and a touch of girly-ness.
Favourite Remain piece currently:
It would have to be our Hayley legging.. the perfect lock down piece so I feel elevated yet super comfy.
Winter or Summer:
That's a no brainer for me … Summer I’m a beach girl to the bone, everything is good when the sun is shining, and everything looks better with a tan!
Best part of my job:
Working with so many great people and getting to do what I love – sometimes it honestly doesn't feel like work.
Worst part of my job:
At the moment, honestly this is such a dull answer but it would have to be freight. Covid has really made it tough getting deliveries on time so we are constantly problem solving this.
How I stay motivated:
Exercise!, I walk or do Pilates most days it helps to clear my head and keep me on track.
My top distraction is:
Online Shopping (whoops).
Soundtrack in the office:
The Beastie boys are keeping me motivated this week, any kind of 90s hip hop or rock is ultimately my jam.
Snacks on hand:
Little Bird Macaroons and an apple.
When I’m not in the office, I am:
Usually at home with my boys! My husband Aaron, our 7 year old son Scout and Gordon out British bulldog.
Advice I would give my younger self:
Trust your gut!
Leave your eye brows alone!
